Connie Norman Workshop

The workshop was fabulous!  Connie shared lots of tips, secrets and anecdotes!  Her work is very colorful, fun, and also challenging when you ponder the text she adds to each piece.   I can’t thank her enough for her gracious gifts to our clay community, and our POWR group (Potters of the Wind Rivers) is… read more

Hello Everyone,   Too much time has passed since I’ve visited with you.  That means things have been happening–which is great!  I wrote my first grant on behalf of our new clay guild, Potters of the Wind Rivers (POWR) and we are bringing in Connie Norman from Cheyenne, WY to conduct a workshop.  The response… read more

What’s Up

Five inches of snow here yesterday.  Bummer!  I am very ready for spring!  However, we are grateful for the moisture.   Busy day in the studio.  I’ve made a new damp box which is working beautifully to keep my pieces workable for a longer period of time.  Thanks to Christa Assad for the tip.  … read more

Fortune Bobbers

The Bobber has become a sort of signature piece for me, although the method of firing is different from most of my work.   The first bobber began as a costume that I made for a performance art piece, in which a leotard completely covered with bobbers took a dive into a swimming pool with… read more

NCECA 2010

I am off to the NCECA Conference (National Council for Education in the Ceramic Arts) in Philadelphia next week.  5000 clay artists will descend upon the city for this annual event.  I’m looking forward to seeing tons of new ceramic art and getting loads of new inspiration!   Stay tuned for an updated report!

Andy Brayman – Sam Harvey Exhibit at Harvey/Meadows Gallery

Andy BraymanSam Harvey   Checked out the new show at Harvey/Meadows Gallery over the weekend featuring Sam Harvey of Aspen and Andy Brayman of Kansas City.   Sam is making wonderful hand-made tiles as well as showing for the first time his fabulous, colorful print/collages.  His eye is very astute and his concepts quite interesting.… read more

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy my work.  I love creating objects that are visually stimulating and that invite the viewer’s touch.  The idea that I can connect with my audience in this personal way is very appealing to me.  I would love to hear your comments!
