Description of Porcelain Pitcher with Blue Green Rim 21-324
This elegant porcelain pitcher was wheel-thrown and the rim altered by rolling over the top of the clay onto itself during the throwing process to form a thicker, hollow rim. The rim is glazed with caramel glaze under blue brown fury glaze, resulting in a beautiful blue green, flowing glaze from rim to shoulder. The salt during firing bound to the porcelain clay body nicely, forming the shiny, almost orange peel texture on the surface. Salt fired to Cone Ten (2345 degrees F).
