Antelope Vase 21-208

This smallish (4.75″x4.5″) vase sports a triptych of antelope carved into its surface. A colored slip was applied to the surface of the wheel-thrown pot when wet, then portions of the surface were carved away to expose the grazing antelope. Salt firing to cone ten (2345 degrees F) gives the pot it’s overall sheen. The textures from carving and slip decoration give this pot amazing depth! Microwave/Oven/Dishwasher safe.
